Chelsea continue to pick points as Mauricio Pochettino’s side thrashed Burnley 4-1 at Turf Moor to record their second consecutive Premier League victory for the first time this season.

The home side took the lead 15 minutes into the match through Wilson Odobert’s goal but Chelsea equalised before the halftime break courtesy of an own goal by Ameen Al Dakhil.

Chelsea came back for the second half rejuvenated and went on to dominate the half, scoring three more goals. It was the Blues’ highest-scoring match of the campaign.

Five minutes after the break, Cole Palmer put Chelsea ahead for the first time in the game before Raheem Sterling extended the advantage in the 65th minute but the Blues were not done yet.

In the 74th minute, substitute Nicolas Jackson completed the win for Chelsea, as the West Londoners took their season’s point tally to 11 points, which provisionally placed them in the 10th position.

Meanwhile, Manchester United avoided a fifth league defeat this campaign as two stoppage-time goals by Scott McTominay secured a dramatic 2-1 win for Erik ten Hag’s side over Brentford at Old Trafford.

United started the game well but found themselves behind just before the half-hour mark through Mathias Jensen after the host’s defenders failed to clear the ball from their 18-yard box.

The Red Devils had this season faced with a dilemma of starting well but only to end up losing in most of their matches.

It was not until the 90th minute that United came close to an equaliser but Antony Martial’s back-heeled effort that struck Brentford’s player into the net was ruled out after VAR intervention – the Frenchman had been offside in the build-up to the goal.

In the third minute of the stoppage time, substitute McTominay finally equalised for Man United before the Scottish midfielder stole the winner for the Red Devils four minutes later.

The win was United’s fourth in the league this season, which also meant for the first ever time, Manchester United have trailed in stoppage time in the Premier League and gone on to win.
