Legendary British heavy metal singer and reality TV star Ozzy Osbourne died of a heart attack, according to a death certificate submitted in London.

According to a death certificate obtained by The New York Times on Tuesday, August 5, the Black Sabbath star’s death was caused by an out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, and coronary artery disease, and Parkinson’s disease with autonomic dysfunction.
Osbourne passed away at 76, a few weeks after performing alongside his Black Sabbath bandmates in a farewell concert in Villa Park in Birmingham, England.

He was buried in his mansion in Buckinghamshire last week in a private funeral attended by his family, a host of rock royalty, and celebs.

The family of the late rock and roll legend confirmed his death in a statement. However, the cause of his death was not revealed at the time.

“It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,” the statement read. “He was with his family and surrounded by love.”

Tributes have poured in from fans and fellow musicians worldwide.

Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi wrote, “I just can’t believe it! My dear, dear friend Ozzy has passed away only weeks after our show at Villa Park… There won’t ever be another like him. Geezer, Bill, and myself have lost our brother. Words cannot express the sorrow I’m feeling. Rest in peace, my dear friend. I love you, Ozzy.”

Other rock royalty, including Metallica and Elton John, also paid tribute publicly, celebrating Ozzy’s lasting legacy in the world of rock and metal.

Born in Birmingham on December 3, 1948, Osbourne rose to fame in the 1970s as Black Sabbath’s frontman, helping pioneer heavy metal before launching a hit solo career with songs like “Crazy Train”.
