IGP Egbetokun charges 10,000 new constables to serve with diligence

The Inspector-General of Police (I-G), Kayode Egbetokun, has called on the 10,000 newly recruited constables into the Nigeria Police Force to imbibe the culture of diligence and patriotism.
The Force public relations officer, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, said this in a statement on Wednesday in Abuja.
Mr Hundeyin said the I-G made the call while addressing the new recruits, during their passing out parade which took place simultaneously across all designated police training institutions.
He said the passing out of the new recruit was a significant milestone in the ongoing efforts of the Force to strengthen its manpower base and enhance operational capacity.
The police spokesman said the I-G had commended the recruits for their commitment and perseverance throughout the rigorous training process.
“The I-G charged them to carry with them the values of honour, diligence, and patriotism that have been instilled during their course of instruction,” he said.
Mr Hundeyin said the recruits had been exposed to modern policing standards, ethical values, and practical field operations designed to prepare them for 21st-century law enforcement.
According to him, community partnership, intelligence-led policing, respect for human rights, and judicious use of authority, aimed at promoting professionalism and public trust in policing were the focus of the training curriculum.
“The passing out of this set of Constables forms part of the Force’s strategic manpower development plan under the current administration.
“The idea is to enhance security presence, improve response capacity, and reinforce public safety across the nation,” he said.
