The Oniku of Iku in Ikare Akoko in Ondo, Mukaila Bello, has been freed by his abductors.

He was kidnapped on Thursday evening by suspected armed bandits.

Mr Bello was released on Saturday evening with the three other victims (Yeye Gbafinro, Adeniran Adeyemo, and Bashiru Adekile, a community leader in the community) kidnapped at the Ago-Panu axis on the Ikare-Owo highway.

Police spokeswoman Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed their release to Peoples Gazette.

“They (victims) were released this evening, and they have been moved to the hospital for treatment,” the police officer told The Gazette via the telephone.

She, however, did not give details of how the victims were freed and if a ransom was paid.

Their kidnappers had demanded N50 million ransom for the ruler and the other victims.
