Katsina: Police arrest 72 people for snatching phones
The police command in Katsina says it arrested 72 suspected phone snatchers and miscreants, locally known as Kauraye, operating in Katsina.
The command’s spokesman, CSP Gambo Isah, disclosed this in a statement on Monday. He said the suspects were arrested in various locations in Katsina after the command raided their hideouts.
Mr Isah said areas raided during the police operation included Sabuwar Unguwa, Gadar Nayalli, Modoji, Tudun YanLihida, and Kwabren Dorawa.
Other areas are Janbango, Abattoir, Filin Canada, Lambun Dankwai, Kofar Marusa, Tsalawa, and Chake.
“The command is extending its appreciation to members of the public for their unflinching support to the Police and other sister security agencies in the state,” he added.
