The mother of the Lagos lawyer Omobolanle Raheem shot dead by a police officer has revealed that the deceased was “pregnant with twins.”

She disclosed this on Tuesday during police commissioner Abiodun Alabi’s condolence visit.

“I cannot see (my daughter) ‘the Law’ again. She was taken away from me. She was pregnant with twins,” the mother said.

Peoples Gazette had earlier reported on Monday that Mrs Raheem, a lawyer, was shot dead on Christmas day by a police officer attached to the Ajiwe police division in the Ajah area of the state.

On Monday, police spokesman in Lagos Benjamin Hundeyin revealed the name of the trigger-happy police officer as Drambi Vandi.

The aged woman said she got the news of her daughter’s death on Sunday night, lamenting the lawyer “died with her glory.”

“She left a five-year-old daughter behind. And they took her away. On Monday, my granddaughter came to me and said, ‘Grandma Iju Ishaga, I saw you yesterday when you were crying. You were shouting. Is it because of my mummy?’ And I said ‘yes’,” the deceased’s mother explained.

She added, “Then she came again and told me that Pastor Jerry said what God cannot do does not exist. So, grandma stopped crying, and she pecked me. Just like that, she (Ms Raheem) suddenly disappeared from among us.”
