Man, 35, in court over alleged theft of N2.1 million

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

A 35-year-old man, Isikalu Oluwaseun, on Thursday appeared in an Ikorodu Magistrates’ Court, Lagos State, over an alleged theft of N2,100.000.

Mr Oluwaseun is facing a three-count charge of conspiracy, felony to wit stealing and obtaining by false pretence, to which he pleaded not guilty.

The prosecutor, Inspector Adegeshin Famuyiwa, told the court that the defendant committed the offences on March 10, at the Grammar school area of Ikorodu.

Mr Famuyiwa said that the defendant also obtained the money in pretence to get two a bedroom apartment for Gift Enuekaonye, the complainant.

He said that the offences contravened Sections 411, 314 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

Magistrate A. O. Ogbe granted the defendant bail in the sum of N200, 000 with two sureties in like sum.

Mr Ogbe adjourned the case until May 16, for mention.
