Ayra Starr announces sophomore album ‘The Year I Turned 21’

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr announced the release of her sophomore album titled on Wednesday “The Year I Turned 21,” which is scheduled to be released on May 31. Along with the album announcement, Ayra Starr also revealed the album’s artwork and shared the track list for the 14-track project. The album will feature collaborations with Asake, Anitta, Coco Jones, Giveon, Seyi Vibez, and Milar.

Her second album comes out three years after her first, “19 & Dangerous,” notable for its hit “Rush” and standout track “Bloody Samaritan,” later remixed by Kelly Rowland. Starr’s recent collaboration with Rvssian and Rauw Alejandro, “Santa,” is climbing the charts, currently at No. 13 on Hot Latin Songs and debuting at No. 36 on Billboard Global Excl. U.S.

Davido vs. Wizkid: Social Media Erupts as Feud Escalates

The ongoing rivalry between Nigerian music icons Davido and Wizkid persists despite their previous reconciliation. Wizkid recently reignited the feud by posting a video seemingly mocking Davido, prompting a fiery exchange on social media. Davido retaliated, questioning Wizkid’s relevance in the industry. The feud escalated with Wizkid also targeting Don Jazzy.

The exchange between Davido and Wizkid sparked widespread reactions on social media. Singer Peruzzi and a former Davido signee criticised Wizkid, comparing him to a lizard for mocking a fan using a video of his former boss. Media personality Adesope Olajide criticised Wizkid’s portrayal of Don Jazzy as an influencer, stating it negatively impacts Afrobeats culture.

Nigerian artist Wizkid sparked controversy by calling Don Jazzy an “influencer” after a fan asked his opinion on Ladipoe’s remarks. Ladipoe referenced Wizkid’s 2022 statement declaring “Rap is Dead,” which stirred reactions from fans. Some hailed Wizkid’s return, while others criticised his perceived disrespect towards Don Jazzy.

Discussions also arose about Wizkid’s collaboration with Tiwa Savage, previously signed to Don Jazzy. Fans reacted to Wizkid’s tweet with mixed feelings. Some welcomed the return of the “old Wizkid,” while others criticised him for disrespecting Don Jazzy. One fan praised Wizkid’s comeback, while another urged him to focus on music instead of Twitter.

She revealed on Instagram that the money was transferred to an Opay account belonging to Cecilia Chiagoziem Okoro. With her financial security at risk, George pleaded for help from Zenith Bank, Opay, and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), stating that the missing funds were everything she had. 

Despite her attempts to access her bank app, she’s facing difficulties. Zenith Bank responded to her plea, requesting a direct message for further assistance.

Tiwa Savage reveals ‘Water & Garri’ soundtrack’s tracklist from her upcoming debut film

Tiwa Savage unveiled the complete tracklist of the official soundtrack for her upcoming debut film, Water & Garri, on Monday, April 29th. The 10-track project includes collaborations with Olamide and Mystro Suga, Reekado Banks, Aṣa, Zacardi Cortez, Ayra Starr, Black Sherif, Young Jonn, Richard Bona, and The Cavemen. 

The Water & Garri soundtrack, produced by Everything Savage and Unbound Studios, will be launched on May 10th via EMPIRE, the same day the film premieres on Prime Video. It will be directed by Meji Alabi and tells a story about Aisha, played by Tiwa Savage, a determined fashion designer who has been living in the United States for the last 10 years. She returns to her homeland after a family tragedy.

Former Big Brother Naija contestant Chioma Ndubueze, also known as Chomzy, and her husband, Henry Chinonso, have joyfully announced the arrival of their first child, a baby boy. Chinonso expressed his gratitude on Instagram, calling their son the perfect start to the new month. The couple, married in December 2023, eagerly awaits this new chapter. Chomzy had previously shared her passion for helping others and planned to launch the ‘Feed the Street with Chomzy’ project.

Gospel singer Moses Bliss gifts signees brand new cars 

Gospel singer, Moses Bliss, has generously presented three cars to the artists who are signed under his label. He shared this news on his Instagram page, naming the lucky artists as Godfrey Gad, Neeja, and Son Music. This generous act follows his tradition of giving, as he gifted cars to his barber last year and signed two new artists.

The gesture has garnered praise from fans and followers, including his lawyer, Pelumi Olajengbesi, who commended the support within the gospel music community. Moses Bliss, originally from Akwa Ibom, gained recognition with his hit songs like ‘Too Faithful’ and ‘You I Live for’, for which he won the Loveworld International Music and Arts Award (LIMA 2020).
