Sean “Diddy” Combs has issued an apology two days after a video surfaced showing him assaulting his ex-girlfriend “Cassie” Ventura.

The rapper posted a video on his Instagram page, expressing deep remorse and taking full responsibility for his actions.

“I was disgusted when I did it then, and I’m disgusted now,” Diddy admitted in the video posted on Sunday.

“I was messed up; I mean, I hit rock bottom, but I make no excuses. My behaviour in that video was inexcusable.”

Diddy shared that the incident led him to seek professional help.

“I went and sought out professional help; I had to go into therapy, I had to go to rehab,” he revealed.

Speaking about his spiritual journey, he said, “I had to ask God for his mercy and grace. I’m so sorry. I’m committed to being a better man each and every day.”

This public apology comes after his lawyer repeatedly denied the allegations.

In response to Diddy’s video post, Cassie’s lawyer, Meredith Firetog, partner at Wigdor LLP, issued a scathing statement saying, “Combs’ most recent statement is more about himself than the many people he has hurt.”

The lawyer mentioned that “When Cassie and multiple other women came forward, he denied everything and suggested that his victims were looking for a payday.”

The lawyer argued that Diddy’s apology after the video was released shows his “pathetic desperation, and no one will be swayed by his disingenuous words.”
