NBC News has reviewed and flagged 11 different articles by the former political reporter Teaganne Finn after an internal review discovered plagiarism in the articles she wrote.

On Monday, the news channel said it noticed unattributed sentences during a routine editing process and launched a review of other articles by Ms Finn.

“A review by NBC News has found 11 articles written by a reporter over the last year that did not meet our standards for original material.

“The articles contained passages from other news organisations that were used without attribution,” the network said to its readers in a letter

NBC clarified that an editor’s note had been placed on each article and the plagiarised sections had been removed.

The news channel said the edited portions of Ms Finn’s articles “were not central to the stories, but instead contained supplemental or background material that did not represent original reporting.”

Though the network did not name Ms Finn in its note, the links to the articles in the letter were all written by Ms Finn, who joined NBC News in June 2021 to cover politics.

A visit to her Linkedin page also shows that Ms Finn had previously worked for Bloomberg News and had earned a master’s degree from American University in 2017.
