The 2024 Hajj Food Committee of Kebbi has assured pilgrims from the state that the state government has made adequate arrangements for their feeding with delicious and familiar menus.

Isa Assalafi, secretary of the committee and spokesperson for APC in Kebbi, disclosed this in an interview in Mecca on Wednesday.

He said the state government under Gov. Nasir Idris had put everything in place to ensure that pilgrims from the state were not starved during the entire Hajj exercise.

Assalafi emphasised, “A pilgrim must have the strength to perform Hajj, while food is key to strength.”

He said the committee has been discharging its responsibilities diligently to serve the purpose for which it was established, advising that pilgrims should have confidence in their ability to deliver.

While appreciating the pilgrims for their decorum in collecting the food, the secretary appealed to them to sustain the tempo to enable the committee achieve its set goals and objectives.

The secretary urged the pilgrims to assist one another in all ramifications, observing that some pilgrims were not only new to the Hajj exercise.

”But some come from villages with little or no knowledge of how to operate certain facilities, hence the need to be assisted.

“As pilgrims, we have been patient with one another, imbibe the culture of tolerance as well as offering assistance to each other.

“In this hotel, tagged: Kauran Gwandu House, about 1,200 to 1,300 pilgrims will be accommodated, therefore, pilgrims need to be patient and orderly.

“I want to assure the pilgrims that Gov. Nasir Idris and the Executive Chairman, Kebbi Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Faruqu Yaro-Enabo have already done the needful, we have not only enough food but extra is available,” he assured.

Assalfi attributed the successes recorded in Medina to the perfect arrangements made by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) as well as the logistics support from the state government.

In Mecca, Assalafi said pilgrims from Kebbi were accommodated in Masfala, adding, “which is a close by area to the Holy Ka’aba.

‘Therefore, we have to appreciate the efforts of our governor and the chairman of pilgrims board for securing this accommodation.

“This is an area where every pilgrim wants to be accommodated because of proximity to Ka’aba.”

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that each pilgrim is being given free breakfast and dinner daily.
