NOA urges Nigerians to support sensitisation on Tinubu’s policies

The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on organisations and community groups to support its nationwide sensitisation on government policies, national values, disaster preparedness, security awareness, and national identity.
The director-general of NOA, Lanre Issa-Onilu, made the call at a news conference in Sokoto on Tuesday.
Mr Issa-Onilu, represented by Bala Musa, the NOA’s spokesperson, said the effort was to enlighten Nigerians on the policies of President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He said personnel were mobilised in the 36 states and 774 local government areas across the nation to implement the campaign.
The DG urged Nigerians to access the right and relevant information on Nigeria through the NOA’s website, www.noa.gov.ng, Artificial Intelligence search, social media platforms, and media organisations on schemes, projects, and programmes geared toward uplifting people’s lives.
According to him, the exercise is not just a campaign but a coordinated national awakening that touches the heart of citizens’ identity, safety, values, and development.
“NOA personnel would engage students, teachers, and administrators on value-based citizenship, while also promoting respect for national symbols such as the flag, anthem, currency, and constitution.
”The agency will sensitise Nigerians to the dangers of sign-out ceremonies during school graduation, opportunities for student loan schemes, business and skills empowerment schemes, and social safety nets enrollment.
”Awareness programmes are also included on the National Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) initiative, where N110 billion was dedicated to support youths, Industrial Training Funds (ITF), and Renewed Hope Infrastructural Funds, where schools, roads, and others are rehabilitated across the country,” he added.
The DG explained that NOA sensitises Nigerians on disaster preparedness and provides community-specific information on weather patterns to guide farmers and residents in flood-prone areas.
He said the agency also works with security agencies to promote vigilance, encourage timely intelligence sharing, and build trust between citizens and law enforcement.
Mr Issa-Onilu emphasised the need for more national values reorientation programmes, safeguarding and promoting national symbols, as well as adhering to the right attitudes.
He highlighted that the agency’s efforts were geared toward conducting town hall meetings, public sensitisation at motor parks, markets, advocacy visits to traditional rulers, and engaging radio, television, and other local media stations.
The director-general reassured increased synergy with federal, state, and local government agencies, as well as community-based groups and associations, to achieve the desired successes.
