One person, seven cows killed in Jigawa auto crash: Police 

The police spokesman disclosed that seven cows died on the spot. Mr Shiisu further stated that 10 cows injured in the crash were slaughtered.

The police command in Jigawa has confirmed the death of one person and seven cows in an auto crash in the Gagarawa local government area of the state.

The spokesman for the command, Lawan Shiisu, said the crash occurred at about 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday at Bosuwa.

“On Tuesday, at about 2:30 p.m., there was a fatal motor vehicle accident at Bosuwa junction in Gagarawa LGA involving a trailer with number plate Yobe FUN 351 XA, loaded with about 38 cows driven by one Abdullahi aged 27, of Potiskum, Yobe,” said the police officer.

He added, “On reaching Bosuwa junction, the driver lost control of his vehicle, veered off the road and collided with a stationary red Sharon vehicle with number plate NNR 394 XA, parked at the shoulder of the road.”

The police spokesman disclosed that seven cows died on the spot. Mr Shiisu further stated that 10 cows injured in the crash were slaughtered. 

According to him, a police team evacuated the victims who sustained injuries to a hospital.

The spokesman added that one of the victims was confirmed dead at Gumel General Hospital, while nine others were admitted at Gagarawa Primary Health Centre.
