A governorship aspirant on the platform of the African Democratic Congress in Oyo, Niyi Aborisade, has said the state will witness positive changes if the party is allowed to take over governance in 2027.

Mr Aborisade said this during the unveiling of the ADC in the Oyo Central senatorial district on Monday in Ibadan.

The governorship aspirant said that if given the chance, he would improve critical areas where the present government in the state had failed.

“We are going to improve on it and make positive changes in our state. There will be free education and free healthcare. We will improve a lot of things,” he said.

Mr Aborisade said the ADC would put smiles on the faces of the masses if voted into power.

He called on party members to remain united and not allow anyone to destabilise the party in the state.

Regarding the alleged defection of Governor Seyi Makinde to the ADC, Mr Aborisade said that while Mr Makinde has the right to defect, he must follow due process.

The ADC chairman in the state, Yinka Olona, said the party, as a coalition, came into existence to ameliorate the sufferings of the masses.

Mr Olona said the only way Nigerians and residents of the state could benefit from the dividends of democracy was to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and vote for ADC candidates in all positions in 2027.

“Leaders like Atiku, Amaechi, Babaji Lawal, El-Rufai and a host of others, to mention but a few, came together to form this coalition so that we can rescue Nigerians from untold hardship,” he said.

He urged residents to collect their voter cards, noting that it is the only way to bring positive change to the country.

Mr Olona further urged party members to remain firm and not allow disunity in the party.

The chairman said the objective of the ADC was to reposition the country to where it is supposed to be, and not only to win the 2027 elections.
