Flights at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport were grounded on Monday due to strike action by workers of the Nigerian Aviation Handling Company Plc (NAHCO) over the company’s failure to increase their salaries.

Airlines, handled by NAHCO, experienced flight difficulties due to the strike that started on Monday.

According to reports, many travellers were left stranded at MMA2 Lagos and Murtala Muhammed International Airport because their flights were rescheduled or delayed.

Many travellers billed for Monday’s morning flights could not travel because of the strike.

The company’s employees have been asking for a pay rise since August, Peoples Gazette learnt. Their request came after the organisation tripled handling rates in the first quarter of 2022.
