The Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Thursday ordered that two men be remanded in a correctional centre for allegedly defiling a 15-year-old.

The police charged Adesoji Adedeji (37) and Yusuf Taiwo (37) with conspiracy and defilement.

Magistrate I.O. Osho did not take the plea of Messrs Adedeji and Taiwo for lack of jurisdiction. She said the court awaited legal advice from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and adjourned the case until May 2 for mention.

Prosecution counsel Foluke Adedosu told the court that the suspects committed the offence in June 2019, stating that the offence is punishable under section 358 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
