The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has called on media organisations interested in deploying journalists to monitor the February 3 re-run and by-elections to apply for accreditation through its portal.

In a notice signed by the commission’s secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, on Tuesday in Abuja, INEC said the dedicated portal for the exercise would be opened from January 17 to 25.

“Interested media organisations wishing to deploy journalists to cover the elections are, by this notice, expected to apply via https://imap.inecnigeria.org

“Late submission shall not be entertained, and there will be no extension of time as the portal will automatically shut down on Thursday, January 25, at 12:00 a.m.,” Ms Oriaran-Anthon said.
