Russian assets belong to no one, Scholz says
German Chancellor Olaf Scholz says that the income from Russian assets does not belong to anyone, so it can be used for military assistance to Ukraine.
The German leader declared this on Thursday.
“We are talking about profits that can be used because they do not belong to anyone and can, therefore, be used by the European Union,”
Mr Scholz said this ahead of the EU leaders’ summit in Brussels.
The chancellor added that these funds had to purchase weapons and ammunition for Ukraine primarily.
