Sanwo-Olu, APC’s milk of human kindness has dried up: Jandor

Laws are not just a means for leaders to demonstrate how wicked they can be.

The attention of the Jandor Gubernatorial Campaign in Lagos State has just been called to the depressing and despondent media statement of an outgoing antipathetic party and to us, it is a veritable indication that not only is the APC wary of its impending defeat in February next year, it has finally outed itself as a political party that lacks human feelings in any way whatsoever.

Even if one concedes the right of a parent to beat a child to near death, only a person whose milk of human kindness has totally dried up will caution and attempt to prevent other humans from consoling the child or tending to their wounds, which is all Jide Adediran has done in this instance – condoling with citizens who have been deprived of their property and means of livelihood by a dictatorial government.

If Seye Oladejo had bothered to watch the video he was instructed to react to, he would have heard Jandor reiterate very clearly that his visit was not to encourage the breaking of such a spurious law but to condole with families who have been punished so excessively by such a draconian law. Jandor further promised to review such laws with a view to amending them because Jandor believes that man was not made for the law but rather laws made for humans.

It is clear at this point that APC has lost the plot of governance. Governments do not just exist in a vacuum; they exist to make life better for all members of society and laws are not just a means for leaders to demonstrate how wicked they can be but to correctively ensure that life is easier for all members of society.

By visiting the victimized families Mr. Lateef Kolapo and Mr. Osinachi Ndukwe, Jandor and Funke have demonstrated the empathetic leadership that Lagos State will become synonymous with from May 29 next year. Particularly moving was the story of Osinachi who lost his 3 years old daughter while in prison for three months for driving against traffic, a misdemeanour that stands condemned by our campaign. Osinachi still came out of serving that jail time and had his small bus vehicle, his means of livelihood, auctioned to cronies of the state at a giveaway price. Jandor and Funke have no regrets empathizing with such victims and if the politically correct thing to do is to side with the oppressor, then let politics be put aside and let humanity first win. Because the foundation of society is human empathy.

We have no doubt that Oladejo’s masters in APC would prefer that Funke Akindele’s entire career be auctioned off to their cronies as reparation for whatever imagined crime he thinks she committed. Unfortunately for them, such law has not yet been passed, even by their puppet assembly.

The Jandor Gubernatorial Campaign urges Lagosians to continue to be their brothers’ keeper and to continue to obey all laws, even the draconian laws currently being operated by the APC. Two truths can exist at the same time: we can condemn the breaking of the law and still empathise with others. Any leadership that lacks empathy is fit only to lead animals in the jungle, and not an enlightened people like the good people of Lagos State.

By the Seye Oladejo press statement, the APC has proven itself to be that wicked parent who beats a child to bear death and still attempts to forbid neighbours from consoling the child and tending to its wounds.
