‘Star Wars’ actor Ray Stevenson dies three days to 59th birthday

Mr Stevenson, born in Northern Ireland in May 1964 died on Sunday in Italy, three days before his 59th birthday.

North Irish actor, Ray Stevenson, famously known for his roles in a series of Marvel and Star Wars movies has died, People Gazette can confirm.

The news of the actor’s death was confirmed on Monday by his representatives at Independent Talent, an European talent agency, representing many of Britain’s leading celebrities. However, the agency did not provide details about Mr Stevenson’s passing.

He was 58.

The actor had recently been cast in a leading role in an upcoming movie titled ‘1242: Gateway To The West’ which started being filmed in Budapest, Hungary earlier this year.

Mr Stevenson, born in Northern Ireland in May 1964 died on Sunday in Italy, three days before his 59th birthday. He played the main antagonist Scott Buxton in ‘RRR,’ a global box office smash hit.

He is also known for playing Volstagg in Marvel’s Thor franchise and Othere in History’s Vikings. Mr Stevenson also starred in other hit movies including ‘King Arthur’, ‘Punisher: War Zone’, ‘Thor: The Dark World’, ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ among others.

“Getting to wield the light saber is just the best feeling in the world,” said Mr Stevenson at a public appearance at Star Wars Celebration in April. “The first time they handed it to for the camera test, I couldn’t help myself, I made the noise.”
