Teenager remanded in prison for stealing car jack

Mr Abdulrahman pleaded guilty on Friday and would remain in detention pending his sentencing.

A teenager, Mubarak Abdulrahman has been remanded by an upper Area Court in Karu, Abuja for stealing a car jack.

Mr Abdulrahman pleaded guilty on Friday and would remain in detention pending his sentencing.

The police charged Mr Abdulrahman, 18, who lives at Tipper Garage, Mararaba, Nasarawa State, Abuja, with theft by servant.

The Judge, Hassan Mohammed, adjourned the case until October 11, for sentencing.

Earlier, the prosecution counsel, Olanrewaju Osho, told the court that sometimes in the month of August, the defendant dishonestly entered into the complainant’s truck and stole a motor jack worth N18,000.

Mr Osho said the matter was reported at the Karu Police Station by Khadijat Olarinoye of Kurudu, Abuja.

He said the offence contravened the provisions of Sections 289 of the Penal Code.
