Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo has predicted that Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will “win” next month’s presidential election.

“We are lucky to have Asiwaju (Tinubu) in APC. He will win,” Mr Akeredolu said of the APC presidential candidate at a campaign rally in Ondo on Monday.

Mr Tinubu would be contesting against Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, Labour Party’s Peter Obi, and Rabi’u Kwankwaso of NNPP among others at next month’s poll.

Speaking at the rally in the Central Senatorial District of Ondo, Mr Akeredolu said the former Lagos governor would be elected president in February 25.

He told the audience it was better to elect Mr Tinubu, whom he described as reliable and competent, than to vote Mr Abubakar, another northerner.

According to him, Mr Tinubu is the only candidate that can engender the desired change and development that the country needed at this challenging time.

“Tinubu will be elected as the President. Should we be looking for someone else in Sokoto or Adamawa when we have a reliable and competent person amongst us,” the Ondo governor added.

Mr Akeredolu, who equally used the rally to campaign for APC candidates for the National and House of Assembly positions in the state, said that the ruling party would come victorious in the various elections.

He presented the party’s flag to all the candidates of the party in the Central Senatorial District of the state.

Also speaking, the Ondo APC Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, rallied for support for the party candidates, adding that the APC remained the most popular in the state.

Mr Adetimehin urged the people to use their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) to vote the party’s candidates, saying, “Keep your PVCs, it is your weapon. From top to bottom, it must be APC.”
