The Katsina State government says it will collaborate with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) to curb traffic offences in the state.

This is contained in a statement on Friday by Ibrahim Kaula, chief press secretary to the state governor, Dikko Radda, in Katsina.

According to Mr Kaula, Mr Radda spoke when Ibrahim Maiyaki-Bazama, the outgoing FRSC commander in the state, paid him a farewell visit.

The governor further promised necessary moral and logistic support to the Katsina FRSC Command.

He appreciated Mr Maiyaki-Bazama and his personnel for their successes in tackling traffic offences and the diligent prosecution of road traffic offenders while in the state.

Earlier, Mr Maiyaki-Bazama said he was at the Government House to meet the governor formally and bid him farewell.

He explained that when he assumed office in Katsina in March 2023, he proposed the creation of additional FRSC unit commands at Jibia, Kankia, and Gidan Mutum Daya for easy coverage of the state.

Mr Maiyaki-Bazama was transferred to head the Kaduna sector command.
