President Muhammadu Buhari has begged Nigerians to vote for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, in the February 25 election, for the continuity of his regime’s achievements.

The president made the appeal via his official Twitter handle on Sunday.

“I am not a contestant in the coming election, but my party,

@OfficialAPCNg, has a candidate in the person of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu. I am calling on all of you to vote for @officialABAT. He is reliable, a true believer in Nigeria, and he will build on our achievements,” Mr Buhari said.

Mr Tinubu,  at various campaign rallies, had also promised to build on the achievements of the Burahi regime.

Mr Buhari’s regime has been characterised by gross violation of human rights abuses, insecurity, and economic hardship as the regime plunged the country into massive debt, estimated to be over N40 trillion, according to the Debt Management Office (DMO).

Under his regime, Nigerians witnessed the massacre of Shiite protesters in Zaria in 2015, with over 300 members of the Islamic group killed by Nigerian soldiers and buried in shallow graves.

Similarly, in 2016, Amnesty International (AI) condemned the Buhari regime after soldiers killed over 150 unarmed members of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB).

On October 20, 2020, soldiers fired shots at #EndSARS protesters, mostly youths, demonstrating against police brutality and extortion at the Lekki toll gate in Lagos.
