The Lagos state police command says it will crush citizens planning to foment trouble in the state following Saturday’s presidential and national assembly elections.

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson of the command, made this known in a tweet on Sunday.

“Available intel suggests some people have concluded plans to foment trouble and wreak havoc. Kindly note that such attempts would be crushed decisively.

“Our election security architecture has not been drawn down. Anarchy will not be allowed! Remain law-abiding. Be guided!,” Mr Hundeyin said.

Saturday’s election in some parts of Lagos was marred by ballot box snatching and violence.

Former Lagos governor, Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, had earlier said the electoral process cannot be perfect and devoid of manipulations in some areas.
