The Ondo State House of Assembly has said it was not part of the reconciliation move by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to wade into the crisis and impeachment move of the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

The State House of Assembly, through its counsel, Femi Emodamori, stated this on Monday in a reply to the case instituted at the High Court by Mr Aiyedatiwa to halt his impeachment process by the lawmakers.

Peoples Gazette had reported that the national chairman of the ruling APC, Abdullahi Ganduje constituted a committee to wade into the crisis which led to the impeachment move of Mr Aiyedatiwa and reconcile warring factions.

The nine-member reconciliation committee headed by former Katsina state governor, Aminu Masari is to also broker peace between the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu and his deputy, Mr Aiyedatiwa.

But the Assembly noted that its members are made up of different political parties and cannot be part of any reconciliation arranged by the national leadership of the APC, stressing that it will await Tuesday’s ruling of the court.

The insistence of the Assembly came after counsel to the deputy governor, Ebu-Olu Adegboruwa, asked the state chief judge, Olusegun Odunsola, not to set up a panel to probe him.
