American actor Will Smith has made a comeback on social media, following his disappearance after the famous Oscar slap.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, also popular for his engaging content on social media, who according to sources, was seeking healing and undergoing therapy in India, has finally made his first post since his disappearance on March 29, 2022, exactly four months after.

“It’s been a minute… Over the last few months, I’ve been doing a lot of thinking and personal work… You asked a lot of fair questions that I wanted to take some time to answer.

“I spent the last three months, replaying and understanding the nuances and the complexities of what happened in that moment.

“And I’m not going to try to unpack all of that right now. But I can say to all of you, there is no part of me that thinks that was the right way to behave in that moment. There’s no part of me that thinks that’s the optimal way to handle a feeling of disrespect or insults.”

The actor who faced major backlash from Hollywood, his fans and also had his membership of the Academy revoked, in a five minutes 43 seconds video posted to his official Instagram page, took the time out to answer questions concerning the infamous incident against American comedian Chris Rock, following the Ill-received joke about his wife.

The Oscar winner explained that he had reached out to the comedian who was unwilling to talk to him at the moment, and took the opportunity to apologise to Chris, Chris’ mother and family, his wife Jada, his kids and fellow nominees.

Will addressed Chris saying: “So I will say to you, Chris, I apologise to you. My behaviour was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.

“I want to apologise to Chris’s mother. I saw an interview that Chris’s mother did and you know, that was one of the things about that moment, I just didn’t realise, and. vou know, I wasn’t thinking, but how many people got hurt in that moment.

“So I want to apologise to Chris’s mother. I want to apologise to Chris’s family. Specifically, Tony Rock. You know we had a great relationship. You know, Tony Rock was my man, and this is probably irreparable.” He also added as he made reference to videos from Rock’s mother and brother who is also a comedian, regarding the incident.

When asked what he would say to people who looked up to him that he had disappointed and let down with his action, the star said that he hates it and feels psychologically hurt when he lets people down, adding that “disappointing people is my central trauma.”

Will said he was “deeply remorseful” and was “trying to be remorseful without being ashamed of myself… I made a mistake and I’m trying not to think of myself as a piece of s***. So I would say to those people, I know it was confusing, I know it was shocking. But I promise you, I am deeply devoted and committed to putting light and love and joy into the world. And, you know, if you hang on, I promise we’ll be able to be friends again.”
