Email provider Yahoo Mail is experiencing downtime, leaving its users unable to sign in and access their emails.

On Monday, checks by Peoples Gazette showed that Yahoo Mail users were unable to complete the sign-in process, and for users using rival provider Gmail, as a security option, sign in credentials have been asked for.

Down Detector, an independent outage monitor, recorded an increase in Yahoo Mail down reports after 7:15 p.m. UK time today.

At the time of filing this report, the monitor has registered a peak of over 6,000 reports of Yahoo Mail down.

Though no cause has been given by the email provider, its official customer care handle noted the downtime on Twitter

“Some users are experiencing issues with Yahoo Mail. We’re aware of this issue and are working to resolve it as quickly as possible,” read the tweet.
