THEME
War for any reason, always causes painful consequences for winners
and losers. Not only to soldiers on the battlefield but also to ordinary
people. Not only at the time of the war but also over many successive
generations. Not just physical wounds, but also mental pain. The hatred
arising from the war is a poison that destroys the soul, making people
cruel and narrow. Only love, understanding, and tolerance can wash
away this toxin, making life happy and peaceful.
The Vietnam War, after a few decades of looking back, is perhaps a
vivid example of this message, especially about the before and after
1975 hybrids' lives. More specifically, the story begins with a so-called
rape case of a black-mixed American youth with a 16-year-old
Vietnamese girl, which raises questions, problems, and answers to this
event.
