THE AMERASIAN – Around 20 years old. Amerasian. Tall with light
black skin. Curly hair. Quite handsome. Grew up rejected and despised
in a society that once considered Americans as enemies. Met the girl, a
neighbor, by chance. Fell in love with her after a few encounters. Lost
control and raped her. Was profoundly remorseful. Asked the girl and
his mother for forgiveness. Promised that once repatriated to the USA
as an Amerasian, would return within 5 years to marry the girl.
Discovered, targeted, and hunted down by a policeman for criminal
prosecution while gathering the paperwork needed to leave the country.
Was able to convince the policeman to let him off by showing him how
sincere and deep his love for the girl was after a deadly chase.
Promised the girl under pain of death that he would return within 5
years. Did not return for reasons unknown.
THE AMERASIAN'S MOTHER – Around 40 to 50 years old. The
husband died of drunkenness. She got involved with a black American
GI while working at a US military base. Lived with the GI a short time.
She got pregnant just as the GI was being transferred. Lost contact
with him. Gave birth to the Amerasian. Raised him until he was a
young man. Accepted all the name-calling that came with having an
Amerasian son. She started to collect the needed paperwork to apply
for her son to emigrate to the US when the US government began
allowing Amerasians to do so. She suffered greatly when the rape
took
place. She spent a lot of money and effort trying to save her son.
Bribed one policeman to help her son escape prosecution. Convinced
another policeman to hunt down and prosecute her son to punish him.
Was able to emigrate to the US with her son. Left behind a legacy of
immense pain and suffering to the family of the girl her son had raped.
THE AMERICAN SOLDIER – Around 30 to 40 years old. Black, tall,
with a gentle-looking face. Posted to a base on the outskirts of a
village. Fell in love with a local woman (the Amerasian's mother) who
worked there. He lived with her and truly loved her. He had wanted to
marry her, but the war caused them to lose track of one other. Left
behind a child whom he may or may not have even known about.
