THE AMERASIAN (CONT'D)
THE AMERASIAN (CONT'D)
My mother is not an unreasonable
person. I will convince her.
The man keeps his gaze fixed on the Amerasian's face as he backs
away and melts into the darkness.
The man bends down to pick up the steel bayonet that has fallen to
the ground and where it lies gleaming.
THE MAN
Alright. I will trust you for now.
Go put a bandage on your arm and
then discuss the matter with your
mother. Then both of you come to
see me tomorrow at 8 AM sharp. Be
there on time. Both of you. At
exactly 8 AM. If you two don't show
up, I won't need the law to exact
justice. This bayonet will not
spare you.
The man then leaves the scene as the Amerasian walks slowly home.
31 INT. THE GIRL'S HOME - EVENING
THE GIRL is lying in her bed half asleep. Her father walks in, mumbles
words to the effect that he will avenge her, and then walks out. Still
sleepy, the girl vaguely hears what he says but when she turns her
torso to sit up, he is already gone.
She makes an effort to sit up and then silently clasps her hands
together to pray and says quietly:
THE GIRL
I pray that no harm comes his way
and that he will come back to me
just like he did in previous
months.
