POLICEMAN B (CONT'D)
This is not to say that I think
you're right. But what we are
discussing now is the rape crime
committed by the black Amerasian...
THE MAN
I don't know if the black Amerasian
did or did not commit a rape crime.
But I know that being black is not
a crime. He is innocent, and he
deserves our pity when two types of
blood course through his veins and,
as a result, society despises and
isolates him. The war is the real
criminal. He didn't ask to be born
in this country. To hate him is
wrong. Moreover, the fact that he
was born is not a crime.
Policeman B is surprised by the man's attitude. He smiles wryly.
POLICEMAN B
I know exactly why you are
defending the black Amerasian. He
is going to be sponsored to go to
America. So, is it true that he has
promised something to you, so that
you will remain silent and accept
that your daughter will be
disadvantaged? You are so pitiful.
THE MAN
(his eyes glowering)
Do not insult me. You are here to
investigate, not to teach me a
lesson. If you defame me, I will

sue you. Even the police must obey
the law and respect the people.
