Stop Heathrow expansion: dates for your diary

Arrivals - noise, pollution, climate change

A third runway at Heathrow will mean the imminent arrival of more noise, pollution and climate change

The end of the Heathrow stitch up consultation is nigh, so here's another quick reminder that, on Monday, MPs, activists, authors, and, well, all sorts of people opposing Heathrow expansion are holding a mass rally and filling Central Hall in Westminster.

There'll be music, videos and speakers - including the Lib Dem's Nick Clegg, the Conservative's Peter Ainsworth and the Green Party's Caroline Lucas, as well as speakers from Hacan, Notrag, Plane Stupid and Greenpeace.

If you're in or around London, come along, bring friends and meet some of the thousands of other voices saying no to Heathrow expansion. That's 7pm, Monday 25th February, Methodist Central Hall, Westminster. There's a map below, and HACAN ClearSkies has the full list of guests and speakers.

And here's another date for your diary: rumour has it that there's a stop airport expansion flash mob on the opening day of Heathrow Terminal 5 (11am on the dot, Thursday 27 March).

The government and BAA see the opening day of Terminal Five as an opportunity to put the case for further airport expansion. Be at T5 International Arrivals at 11am to put on (or strip to reveal) your brightly coloured 'STOP AIRPORT EXPANSION' t-shirt. Almost everything is against the Heathrow byelaws, but wearing a t-shirt is not a crime. So as long as you’re not demonstrating, you’re not breaking the law!

Here's the flyer (pdf).

Last Monday's rally started at 7pm, but the Flash mob on the 27th starts at 11am.

Full details here.

Sorry for the confusion!
