Commenting on a speech today by Prince Charles in which he urges business leaders to embrace more ambitious climate change targets, Leila Deen of Greenpeace said:

“The Prince has today given his personal backing for a new emissions target, adding his weight to the growing chorus of business voices demanding change. With China set to announce bold new clean energy policies in the next few weeks, Europe must act now to prevent its  clean technology sector losing out. Prince Charles knows that a carbon reduction target of at least 30 per cent by 2020 is essential to create green jobs and safeguard our economy. Companies who claim to be green, including those in the Prince’s Corporate Leaders Group, should follow his lead.”
