When six women climbed the Shard everyone knew it was a landmark moment. Two months later 3000 people walked with the world's largest polar bear to Shell's headquarters. Three days after that 28 peaceful activists and two journalists were arrested at gunpoint. We were practically tripping over the landmark moments in 2013.

Amazing news! This morning Colin Russell was in court in St Petersburg to appeal the decision that he should not be released on bail. Not even four minutes after we learned that his hearing had started, news came that Colin had been granted bail.

These last few days in Russia have been awash in joyful news. At time of writing, 26 of the Arctic 30 have been granted bail, though sadly one has bafflingly been denied bail and given three more months of pre-trial detention.

The detention hearings are continuing, and so far everyone has been granted bail - apart from Colin Russell, the ship's radio operator. It's inconsistent and unfair, but as you can see from this video filmed yesterday in court, Colin still looks strong and his words are beautiful.
