What happened to the Airplot?

There's a story on the Guardian website today which has thrown up questions about what happened to the land that we bought some years ago to block plans for a third runway at Heathrow. It claims that the land was sold back to its original owner (which is true, and with good reason) and that we didn't publicise this (which is also true, also with good reason).

Greenpeace response to government ruling our Heathrow third runway

Responding to news today that the Government has reaffirmed the coalition agreement to restrict aviation expansion and rule out a third runway at Heathrow, Joss Garman, senior campaign at Greenpeace, said: 

“This looks like an embarrassing slap down for George Osborne, who has been very public in his personal backing for more runways. It’s now clear that he’s lost the argument.

Climate-wrecking plans for a third runway at Heathrow airport have been axed. In a huge victory in the fight for genuine action against catastrophic climate change, the coalition government has cancelled the project. Which means that Airplot, the piece of land slap bang in the middle of the proposed third runway site at Heathrow and collectively owned by tens of thousands of people from around the world, probably won't now be needed.
