Greenpeace and the Glastonbury Festivals have had a long, mud-splattered relationship. Along with Water Aid and Oxfam, Greenpeace is lucky enough to be one of the three worthy causes which get top billing alongside the rock gods and superstar DJs, and our field is always a popular stopping off point for festival-goers between stages.
We also appear at other festivals throughout the summer so keep an eye open for our friendly volunteers. But here's what's happening down on the farm in 2011...
To celebrate our 40th anniversary and the launch of the Rainbow Warrior III this year the Greenpeace field is taking on a nautical theme..
Oceans cover most of our planet and are a key buffer against climate change and a source of food for billions, and yet we're still chucking crude oil, toxic chemicals and radioactive waste in there. Humans are over-fishing like there's no tomorrow, which for some marine ecosystems isn't far from the truth.
Greenpeace are celebrating our 40th anniversary by returning to the ocean.

change and a source of food for billions. Yet we’re still chucking
crude oil, toxic chemicals and radioactive waste in there, plus
dangerously over-fishing like there’s no tomorrow - which for some marine ecosystems
isn’t far from the truth.

Glastonbury is the big fixture in our
festival calendar but throughout the summer our events crew are setting up shop
at other big country bashes. They're getting people involved with our campaign
to save the rainforests (see our new forest defenders making monkeys of themselves
in the slideshow above) as well as providing plenty of activities to provide an
alternative to the music stages.
Latitude
and Womad have been and gone, but this weekend it's their first visit to the Big Chill. If
you're heading that way look out for the Banksy backdrop where you can put
yourself in the picture and declare your support, like hundreds of other people
have already done.
After her adventures at the Make a NOise carnival, Amy Greenhouse is back. This time, she joined us at Glastonbury to show the farm a bit of love. The question is, where's Trace?
With big thanks to Niall and Jason from Tellyjuice.

I still have to get hold of some wellies (my
trusty pair is elsewhere right now) and a tent, but things are starting to fall
into place for Glastonbury.
The team working hard to bring the Greenpeace field to life are not far from my
desk and I haven't heard any raised voices yet which has to be a good sign. But
for those out there with tickets (if you don't have them yet, you can still win
a pair with our Greener Glastonbury Giveaway on Facebook), exactly what is
being cooked up?
