Dirty-List

Updated July 2026

The Dirty List names international companies directly or indirectly helping to finance, arm or equip the Burmese military.  The Dirty List also includes international companies involved in projects linked to human rights violations or environmental destruction.

The Burmese military is dependent on the international community for its access to the finance and arms which it uses to cling on to power. The United Nations has documented numerous violations on international law by the Burmese military, concluding it is responsible for genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity.

A broad spectrum of Burma’s independent political parties and leadership, ethnic revolutionary organisations, local administrations, and civil society are united behind a call for international companies to avoid helping to finance, arm or equip the Burmese military. It is not a call for blanket sanctions. It is a call for targeted action to reduce the capacity of the Burmese military to kill and oppress the people of Burma.

International companies helping to finance, arm, or equip the Burmese military are complicit in violations of international law.

The fact that so many international companies feature on the Dirty List, including from western countries claiming to stand with the people of Burma, demonstrates how few sanctions have been imposed to stop arms and finance to the Burmese military.

The Dirty List is not comprehensive. We will continue to update the Dirty List on a regular basis and welcome information on companies which should be added.
