November 8,2021—A large crowd of Ethiopian population in Capital Addis Ababa gathered yesterday and marched throughout the streets protesting against the western nations for meddling in Ethiopian’s internal issues.
Ethiopian citizens accused western media of spreading fake news against their country.
This comes after rumors were trending on media purporting the advancement of rebel forces of Tigray People’s Liberation Front towards Ethiopian capital, Addis Ababa.
In a statement seen by Nyamilepedia, the Ethiopian citizens say they are ready to defend their nation, heritage and their pride by themselves from any external forces by all means necessary describing the western media’s headlines such as BBC as ” Fake News”.
“Stop BBC, stop Fake News on Ethiopia”, statement reads on a banner held by one protester in Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa.
The protesters say the news that Tigray forces are matching to the capital city are not accurate and as such they must be disregarded as “Propaganda”
“The alleged marching of Tigray rebels to Addis Ababa is false and right now the city is calm”, states by one protester on banner as slogan.
Last week, the U.S. State Department ordered its non-emergency employees and their family members to evacuate the war-torn Ethiopia in response to an unabated armed conflict, civil unrest and possible supply insufficiency.
In September, Dr. Abiy Ahmed was sworn-in for his second term as Prime Minister of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia; however, his controversial victory in late July was described by some political analysts as “vicious circle” to the fragile situation in the country.
