January 07, 2022—Two people have lost their lives after a building collapsed on them in Konyo-Konyo market in the capital on Wednesday, January 5th.
According to the information received from an eye witness, the incident reportedly occurred around 11:30 am after the constructors discovered some faults on the building used as a store.
An eye witness, who identified himself as Abuna Luke, said two people were reported to have been injured too in the same incident but saying the injuries were very light as they were seen trying to remove the rubles on top of the deceased.
“.. I went to Kony-Kony to buy something, on my way back, there was a building. You know this building is used as stores. There were around four builders who were demolishing”, Abuna Luke quoted by Eye Radio to have said.
Abuna believes that, the builders might have wanted to adjust some errors in the building and in the process, unfortunately the building collapsed leaving two dead on spot and two others with light injuries.
