Sallah: Civil Defence deploys 900 personnel to mosques, markets, motorparks in Jigawa

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa, says it has deployed 900 personnel to provide security and ensure hitch free Eid-el-Kabir celebration in the state.

The Spokesman of the Corps, CSC Adamu Shehu, in a statement in Dutse on Thursday, said the measure was also to ensure protection of critical national assets and infrastructure in the state.

He said the Commandant of the Corps, Musa Alhaji, tasked personnel to be civil and exhibit a high level of professionalism while discharging their duties.

Mr Alhaji said the Corps had deployed its operatives to prayer and durbar grounds, motor parks, markets and other strategic places across the 27 local government areas of the state.

According to him, the Corps is working in collaboration with other security agencies to protect lives and property across the state.

While urging the general public to be law abiding, the Commandant advised them to be vigilant and report suspicious movements and persons to security agencies.

He also wished Muslim faithful a happy and hitch free celebration and advised parents to monitor their children.

“The commandant urged the residents to pray for the nation and use the holiday in clearing drains to avert the flood,” he said.
