APC executives of Birnin Magaji ward in Birnin Magaji Local Government Area of Zamfara have rejected the suspension of Rep. Aminu Jaji by the party’s state chapter.

Speaking at a press briefing in Birnin-Magaji on Friday, the APC organising secretary of Birnin Magaji ward, Abba Mamuda, said the party executives from Mr Jaji’s ward were unaware of his suspension.

“On behalf of the 23 APC executive members of this ward, we totally reject the suspension of Aminu Jaji from APC,” said Mr Mamuda.

“We have no hand in writing any petition or suspension letter to the state against Jaji,” he added.

On Friday, the state APC chapter announced the suspension of Mr Jaji, who represents the Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives over alleged anti-party activities.

“We have no complaints or grudges against Aminu Jaji considering his service to the party and entire people of Kaura-Namoda/Birnin-Magaji constituency and Zamfara State,” Mr Mamuda noted.

Mr Mamuda, therefore, called on the state APC leadership to review Mr Jaji’s suspension “with immediate effect.”

“We are highly disappointed with the action against Aminu Jaji by Zamfara APC leadership; we have no confidence in the current APC leadership in the state and Birnin-Magaji Local Government Area.

“The state party leadership is violating the party’s constitutional provisions and guidelines,” the secretary stated.

Also, the vice chairman of APC in the ward, Isuhu Masko, described Mr Jaji as a “father of APC in Birnin-Magaji and Zamfara.”

“As a lawmaker, Jaji is a true democrat and a grassroots representative. Therefore, the APC leadership should be proud of him and not even think of suspending him.

“We are totally opposed to the suspension of Jaji from the APC and are in solidarity with Aminu Jaji as our leader in APC,” Mr Masko said.
