Tears suddenly start streaming down his cheeks. Tố Như, Kiều, I am
crying for you two noble souls with such an unfortunate fate in this
                       heart-wrenching life!

54 EXT. THE GRASSY HILL - NIGHT

THE GIRL walks out of the house and heads toward the hills. She
walks as if in a daze. Her shadow flickers on the desolate, grassy hills.

Night comes as she stumbles and makes her way to the end of a chain
of hills. A large shadow rises from the side of the hill. The two

recognize each other, show no surprise, and then embrace each other
                       while tumbling onto the ground.

THE AMERASIAN kisses the girl on the lips, and she clumsily returns
the kiss. The two shadows merge into one on top of the soft grass and
within the forgiving darkness. They keep kissing, taking in their waiting

souls as their bodies are intimately wrapped around each other and
writhing as if in a trance.

A long time afterward, they separate and lie on their backs looking up at
the sky. Some stars are already shining in the darkening sky. Heaven

and earth are quiet. Only the two of them exist and draw breath in this
                       life.

                                                   THE
I wish we could be together forever

like this. I wouldn't want anything
                                     else.

                                                   THE AMERASIAN
Me, too. But the sad thing is, we
                                     can't romanticize. A policeman
                                                   (MORE)
almost nabbed me last night. He
even had handcuffs. Luckily, I was
                                     able to run away.
