16 EXT. THE CEMETERY - AFTERNOON
Dejected, the man walks away, and his steps take him back to the
tomb where his daughter was harmed. He sits down and is surprised
that no trace is left of the crime.
He asks himself: "Why was she raped here? Could it be that he
abducted her from our house? Is it possible she was close to the
Amerasian? Could this be possible? Our daughter is very young and
naive, could it be that she had changed, and I hadn't realized? I must
go see the Amerasian to talk this out before taking the next step."
17 EXT. THE BLACK AMERASIAN'S HOME - AFTERNOON
Upon leaving the tomb, the man starts looking for the black
Amerasian. He does not have to look far. Many in the nearby
neighborhood know where he lives.
The Amerasian's home is at the end of the hamlet. It is a semi
dilapidated house with woody walls and not much better than the
man's own. In front of the house is a small courtyard shielded by a
hibiscus hedge. He knocks, and a woman, who looks sick, opens the
door. He asks immediately:
THE MAN
Excuse me, is this the home of the
black Amerasian?
THE AMERASIAN'S MOTHER
Yes.
THE MAN
Is he home?
THE AMERASIAN'S
He isn't back from work yet. Is
