In the last few months, many people
have come to this house to ask for
a favor or to discuss this or that.
I am not new to this. It won't
work, sir! My son and I will not
let anyone take advantage of us.
For years we have had a hard and
difficult life, and no one has ever
even glanced at us. Now, suddenly,
tons of people are coming to our
door to plot this and that. Do not
falsely accuse us. I won't believe
you.

THE MAN feels embarrassed and angry that the woman is distrustful
and antagonistic toward him. He tries to control his feelings to be able

to convince her.

THE MAN
Previously, I didn't even know who
your son was, or that he had been
sponsored to go to the US. However,
he has done this thing, and he must
take responsibility. You are a
mother. You love your son dearly,
so I am sure you understand how
much I love my daughter especially
under these circumstances. I
haven't gone to the police because
I wanted to talk reason to you
first. If both you and your son
prove to be irresponsible, I will
be forced to bring this matter to
the court.

At this point the man sees a new aspect of the issue and emphasizes
it.
