After two weeks of frantic film making, the curtain has fallen on the Greenpeace film competition.

I spent a few very pleasant hours yesterday watching all the entries – in many cases, over and over again. I’m amazed by how much hard work has gone into them – and I think you will be too when you see the results.

You read that right – following over half a million emails sent by you, Barbie has realised that toying with deforestation is no game. Mattel, the company behind Barbie, has decided that being involved in the destruction of Indonesia's rainforests is bad for business as well as the planet, and has dropped deforestation from its production line.

You might not think that the criminal underworld smells of sea salt and fish guts, but when there are millions of euros up for grabs for Europe's fishing fleet the crooks with hooks surface.
