Climate change protesters dressed in polar bear costumes in Trafalgar Square, London

With the climate conference rumbling on in Bali, the time is ripe for people around the world to stand up, be counted and demand tough action to prevent climate change. Time, in fact, for the Global Day of Action, which this year falls on Saturday 8 December so there's just a few days to go.

There are three rallies happening in the UK, in Belfast, Glasgow and London - follow the links for times and locations. Distressing scenes of people dressed as polar bears are expected, but don't let that put you off - join thousands of others at your nearest rally to make your voice heard, just don't forget an umbrella.

If you're going to the London event, keep an eye out for our intrepid canvassers on the Heathrow Voices tour near the US embassy at Grosvenor Square. They'll be encouraging you to join the opposition to airport expansion with a short message for our video wall so if you spot someone approaching you with a camera phone held high, don't just say cheese.
