Guinea, Africa: At first light yesterday morning (March 28th, 2006), the Greenpeace helicopter flew over a group of fishing vessels 60 miles off the coast of Guinea. One was not on the list of ships authorized to fish. An inflatable boat was launched from the Greenpeace ship M.Y Esperanza, taking a Guinean Navy officer and a fisheries inspector with a crew from Greenpeace and the Environmental Justice Foundation on board.

Greenpeace today scored another success in their campaign to 'green' supermarket seafood buying policies as Morrison's agreed to change their policy.The move means that the four biggest UK supermarkets have now committed to sourcing their seafood from sustainable sources.

Government measures to conserve dolphin populations in the English Channel were exposed as merely a hollow political gesture in the High Court today.

With dramatic timing a planned whale and dolphin meat processing factory due to be built in the host city of this years International Whaling Commission (IWC) has been shelved. The decision, reported in the South Korean publication The Hankyoreh comes just days before this years IWC negotiations on conserving whale stocks begins.
