European Commission lacks ambition in reducing emissions from cars

Over half a million people have made it impossible for VW to openly oppose targets

This week the European Commission published a new draft proposal on car efficiency for 2020. They agreed to stick with their original target but have missed a chance to go further towards getting us off our oil addiction.

Greenpeace response to government ruling our Heathrow third runway

Responding to news today that the Government has reaffirmed the coalition agreement to restrict aviation expansion and rule out a third runway at Heathrow, Joss Garman, senior campaign at Greenpeace, said: 

“This looks like an embarrassing slap down for George Osborne, who has been very public in his personal backing for more runways. It’s now clear that he’s lost the argument.

Greenpeace to plant a million names on seabed beneath the pole

Stars from the worlds of music, film, TV and business are today launching a campaign to save the Arctic.

Sir Paul McCartney, Penelope Cruz, Robert Redford, One Direction, Alexandra Burke, Jarvis Cocker and Sir Richard Branson are among dozens of famous names who are asking for a global sanctuary in the Arctic. They have joined forces with Greenpeace to demand that oil drilling and unsustainable fishing are banned in Arctic waters.
