Our 5-Step Cleaning Process

Every Clean Slate PW project follows the same methodical process — because consistent results come from consistent preparation, not shortcuts.

How We Clean Your Property — Start to Finish

Clean Slate Pressure Washing follows a standardized 5-step exterior cleaning process on every residential and commercial project in the Tampa Bay region. This process ensures consistent, damage-free results regardless of property size, surface type, or contamination level. Every step — from the initial property assessment through the post-cleaning inspection — is designed to protect your surfaces, your landscaping, and your investment. The 5 steps are: Assess, Protect, Clean, Detail, and Inspect. Each step is described in full below.

1

Assess Your Property

Before any equipment comes off the truck, we walk your entire property with you. We identify every surface to be cleaned, note the material type (stucco, vinyl, concrete, tile, screen), assess contamination severity (light maintenance vs. heavy algae vs. deep staining), and document any pre-existing conditions. This assessment determines which cleaning method, chemistry, and pressure level each surface will receive. We also identify landscaping that needs protection and note any access considerations (gate codes, pet containment, neighbor proximity).

2

Protect Your Surroundings

Before any cleaning solution is applied, we protect everything adjacent to the work area. All landscaping within splash range is pre-rinsed with clean water to saturate the soil and leaf surfaces — this prevents chemical absorption. Delicate plants receive additional protection with lightweight tarps. Outdoor furniture, grills, and decorative items are moved or covered. Windows and doors are checked for secure closure. We lay down equipment pads to prevent driveway scuffs from hoses and surface cleaners. This step takes 15–30 minutes and is never skipped regardless of project size.

3

Clean with the Right Method

This is where method selection matters most. Soft wash surfaces (roofs, siding, stucco, screens, painted wood) receive our biodegradable cleaning solution applied at 100–500 PSI through calibrated spray tips. The solution dwells for 10–30 minutes, dissolving organic growth at the cellular level. Pressure wash surfaces (concrete driveways, sidewalks, pavers, pool decks) receive our commercial surface cleaner at 2,500–4,000 PSI, which delivers an even, streak-free clean across the entire surface. We never use the wrong method on any surface — the assessment in Step 1 determines exactly what goes where.

Detail the Edges and Transitions

After the primary cleaning pass, our technicians detail every edge, corner, and transition area that the broad cleaning tools cannot reach. Window frames, door surrounds, fascia trim, light fixtures, downspouts, expansion joints, landscape borders, and curb lines all receive hand attention with specialized tips and soft brushes. This step is where the difference between a professional clean and a DIY clean becomes visible — it is the finishing work that makes the entire property look deliberate and complete.

5

Inspect with You

We walk the property again — this time with you — to inspect every cleaned surface together. We point out the results, answer any questions, and identify any areas that need a second pass. If anything does not meet your expectations or ours, we re-treat it on the spot before we leave. After the walk, we rinse all landscaping a final time, replace any moved furniture, and pack up our equipment leaving no trace. Before we drive away, we capture after photos for your records and for our portfolio (with your permission).

The Difference

Why Process Matters More Than Equipment

Most pressure washing companies skip Steps 1, 2, 4, and 5 entirely. They arrive, blast water at everything, and leave. The result: damaged surfaces, dead landscaping, missed spots, and zero accountability. Our 5-step process exists because we learned that consistent preparation produces consistent results — and consistent results produce customers who come back every year and refer their neighbors. The 150+ five-star reviews on our Google Business Profile are not luck. They are what happens when every job runs through the same five steps, every time.
